Generate, search, edit, and vectorise images.
What It Does
The Images app is a complete toolkit for working with images. You can create new images from text descriptions, search the web for existing images, edit uploaded photos, and convert images to scalable vector graphics.
Available skills:
- Generate – Creates high-quality images from your text descriptions. Supports different aspect ratios (square, widescreen, portrait, and more) and can output PNG, JPG, or SVG files. For vector graphics like logos and icons, your mate automatically uses SVG output.
- Generate Draft – Creates a quick preview image at lower cost and faster speed. Good for getting a rough idea before committing to a full-quality generation.
- Search – Searches the web for images by description. Also supports reverse image search – upload an image and find where it appears online or find visually similar images.
- Vectorise – Converts a regular image (PNG, JPG, or WEBP) into a scalable SVG vector graphic. Perfect for logos, icons, and illustrations that need to work at any size.
- View – When you upload an image, your mate can look at it to describe what is in it, read text from it, identify objects, or answer questions about it.
Image editing:
- Upload a photo and ask your mate to modify it. For example: “Add a sunset to the background” or “Make this look like a watercolour painting.” Your mate uses the original image as a reference and generates a new version.
How to Use It
- Generate an image: “Create an image of a cosy cabin in the mountains at sunset”
- Get a quick draft: “Make a quick sketch of a robot playing guitar”
- Create a logo: “Design a minimalist logo for a coffee shop called ‘Bean There’”
- Search for images: “Find images of golden retriever puppies”
- Reverse image search: Upload an image and ask “Find similar images” or “Where does this image appear online?”
- Edit a photo: Upload an image and say “Add a rainbow in the sky”
- Vectorise: Upload a logo and ask “Convert this to SVG”
- Describe an image: Upload a photo and ask “What is in this picture?”
Memories
- Preferred Styles – Save your preferred image styles (for example, “minimalist”, “watercolour”, “cyberpunk”) so your mate knows your taste.
Tips
- Generated images are stored securely and encrypted. You can download them at any time.
- SVG generation is best for logos, icons, and illustrations. Use PNG or JPG for photos and detailed scenes.
- The draft generation skill is much cheaper and faster – use it to test ideas before generating a final version.
- All generated images include standard labels that identify them as computer-generated, following industry best practices for transparency.
- You can use generated or uploaded images as references for new generations, creating variations or edited versions.
