Search for local meetups, conferences, hackathons, and community events.
What It Does
The Events app searches for upcoming events near you or in any city. It pulls results from Meetup and Luma to find tech meetups, networking events, hackathons, workshops, conferences, and other community gatherings.
Available skills:
- Search – Finds events by topic and location. Supports searching for both in-person and online events. You can run multiple searches in parallel (for example, searching for events in two different cities at once).
Search options:
- Search by city or geographic coordinates
- Filter by event type: in-person or online
- Set a date range to find events on specific days or weeks
- Adjust the search radius for local events (default: 25 miles)
- Get up to 50 results per search
How to Use It
- Find local events: “What tech meetups are happening in Berlin this week?”
- Search by topic: “Find AI hackathons in London”
- Look for online events: “Search for online Python workshops”
- Compare cities: “Find startup events in both Munich and Hamburg”

- When you mention a city, your mate defaults to in-person events. Say “online” or “virtual” if you want remote events.
- Results show event names, dates, locations, and links to the original event pages where you can register.
- Luma coverage includes 78 major cities worldwide, with strong coverage of tech and startup events.
- Meetup covers a wide range of community groups and topics beyond tech.
