Onboarding
When you create an account, a friendly welcome chat with Suki introduces you to OpenMates and helps you get started.
What It Does
After you complete signup, a welcome chat is automatically created with Suki, the onboarding assistant. Suki is a digital team mate designed to:
- Learn what you plan to use OpenMates for.
- Introduce you to 2-3 specialist team mates and features relevant to your needs.
- Optionally (and only with your permission) share an anonymous summary of your use case with the OpenMates team to help improve the product.
How It Works
- Signup completes – A welcome chat appears in your chat list with a pre-written greeting from Suki. No credits are used for this initial message.
- You reply – Tell Suki what you are interested in (coding, writing, research, or anything else). This is when the conversation with the digital team mate begins and credits are used.
- Suki responds – Suki keeps responses short (3-5 sentences) and guides you toward the features and team mates that match your interests.
- Optional sharing – At the end of the conversation, Suki may ask if you would like to share a brief, anonymous summary of your use case. You can say no – there is no pressure.
What Suki Will Not Do
- Suki will not mention technical details like encryption methods or server architecture.
- Suki will only ask once about sharing your use case.
- If you go off-topic, Suki will briefly answer and then gently guide the conversation back.
Anonymous Use-Case Sharing
If you agree to share:
- Only a short summary (2-5 sentences) and your language are recorded.
- No personal information is stored – not your name, email, or account details.
- The summary helps the OpenMates team understand what people use the platform for.
Tips
- You can return to the welcome chat at any time from your chat list.
- If the welcome chat does not appear, try refreshing the page.
- You can start new chats immediately – you do not need to finish the onboarding conversation first.
