Math

Accurate calculations, equation solving, and function plots.

What It Does

The Math app gives your mate the ability to perform precise mathematical calculations. Instead of estimating answers, your mate sends the expression to a dedicated calculation engine that guarantees exact results.

Available skills:

  • Calculate – Evaluates mathematical expressions with guaranteed precision. Covers everything from basic arithmetic to advanced symbolic mathematics.

What it can do:

  • Basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
  • Algebra: simplify expressions, solve equations
  • Calculus: derivatives, integrals
  • Trigonometry and logarithms
  • Unit conversions (kilograms to pounds, celsius to fahrenheit, etc.)
  • High-precision calculations (up to 100 significant digits)

Function plots:

  • When your mate describes a mathematical function, it can generate an interactive plot that appears as a preview card in the chat. Click to open the plot in fullscreen.

How to Use It

  • Calculate: “What is (4 times 22 times 7) divided by 2?”
  • Solve an equation: “Solve x squared minus 4x plus 3 equals zero”
  • Convert units: “Convert 100 kilograms to pounds”
  • Differentiate: “What is the derivative of sin(x) times e to the x?”
  • Plot a function: “Plot the function y equals x squared from -5 to 5”

Tips

  • Your mate automatically uses this skill whenever you ask a maths question, so you always get precise answers rather than estimates.
  • Results show the expression that was evaluated and the exact result.
  • For very high precision needs, you can ask for more decimal places (up to 100 significant digits).
  • Function plots are interactive – you can zoom and explore them in fullscreen.
  • Sheets – View tabular data and calculations in spreadsheet format
  • Code – Write code for more complex mathematical programs
